Ketchup
Drumroll. Ladies and gents, prepare for the kind of post that comes following an extended period of undocumentation… The undocumentated life, documented in a series of images!

My kitchen, where I’ve been spending a great deal of time baking blueberry-lemon muffins, white-chocolate-gingerbread blondies, blackstrap molasses cookies. Red wine and Madeleine Peyroux.
View from the work window of the frozen Allegheny, ice-encased riverfront tail and the airport hangar otherwise known at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.
Dogsitting my parents’ pup for the month. We spend a lot of time in Arsenal Park. He sniffs the trees and makes friends in the makeshift dogpark (a.k.a. the tennis courts). I stay warm in my mother’s calf-length down parka and wool-lined mittens, and am thankful for every moment of joy this little guy brings. He is my sweetest heart.
Toured the Cathedral of Learning’s Nationality Rooms. For a few bucks, you get a map, a master key and a cassette player to talk you through your local-global trek.
Picked up an RELEASE THE KEISEL tee at Commonwealth Press for someone who cares about sportz way more than I do.
Steelers S as big as my torso doused in icing and finished with black and gold jimmies at the Pittsburgh Pretzel Shop. Probably the least appealing carbohydrate I have ever seen. Wonder what’s bigger? Starbucks’ Trenta, or this?

Praying for a Superbowl victory at the Zenith’s Steelers shrine, following a brunch of BBQ seitan, a pot of green tea and a lecture from the proprietoress that my favorite — the oft-missing-from-menu tofishy sandwich — is a “pain in the ass” to make, especially with the tartar sauce, which “takes forever.” What a peach.
Big Dog homemade HoHo and soy chai, you are my best friends I see once every few months but when we get together it’s like we’ve never been apart.
Not pictured (a.k.a. smoking pot in the first-floor annex bathroom the day of senior pictures): Seinfeld-worthy “big salad” at J’eet. Joshua Radin at Mr. Smalls. New Shouts at Brillo. Dean & Britta at Clear Story Studio.
… And now back to your regularly scheduled blogging. Promise.
