As director Ted Pappas notes, PPT’s Camelot is indeed FABULOUS (Jan. 20-Feb 20. @ the O’Reilly). No one can do Arthur like Richard Harris (R.I.P. Dumbledore), but Hayden Tee — who, from the playbill, I learned has recorded children’s albums titled Sounds Like Fun and, get this, Wild Aussies (oh yeahh) — did a remarkable job with the role.
Not my favorite musical (I prefer the catchier Sondheim & Bernstein and Rodgers & Hammerstein to the bit stodgier Lerner & Loewe), but a waaaay better use of a Thursday night than a Grey’s Anatomy rerun.
I need more musical theater in my life — thus my recent CLO subscription (Jekyll & Hyde, Sound of Music, Wicked).
